CANON PIXMA MP198 Reset


If the  printer show the error Code E08,  means that the ink absorber inside the printer is almost full. To solve this problem,  resetting  the counter is the solution.

Canon Pixma MP198 is one of the Inkjet multifunction (Print, Scan, Copy) printer from Canon. This is a 3 in 1 capable of printing
Before doing troubleshooting regarding this printer double check if  the power and usb cable are connected and make sure there’s no pending print in the the printer.
Troubleshooting Procedure 1: Hardware Reset
Troubleshooting Procedure 2: Software Reset

Procedure 1:  Hardware Reset

  • Turn off the printer without pulling the power cords
  • Hold down STOP/RESET button and press Power button
  • Keep holding down Power button and let STOP/RESET button go
  • Then Press STOP/RESET button twice then let BOTH buttons go
  • You will notice that the Alternate Blinking error is gone
SECOND STEPS: Using the Resetter
  • Open the program
  • Click Reload Button and  a new USB port appears
  • Load some papers in your printer and press the "Main" Button once, wait until the printing is done
  • Press "EEPROM Clear" button to clear EEPROM
  • Press EEPROM button and the printer will print some text
  • Power off the printer and  then turn on again
