The message Waste ink tank almost full or the error5b00 appears on Canon Pixma iP6220D and Canon Pixma iP6210D. Just reset the was waste ink tank counter to start printing again.

Follow the procedure below to fix the problem

  • Power off printer
  • Hold Resume button then press and hold POWER (the beeper will sound once
  • Hold POWER and release RESUME
  • Press RESUME twice, then release all buttons
  • When the indicator lights steady, press RESUME  four times the light indicator should now be orange.
  • Turn off then turn on the printer
  • Done

  1. Epson printers have built in software that counts the print that you do & after a specific number of prints it stop working displaying an error message. This message will continue unless you reset the protection counter. You can unlock this problem by downloading resetting software.
